Baker No. 101 Zingiber officinale Rosc. var.; Grown from rhizome brought from the high mountains of Western Cuba; where it is common in the most remote parts of the high moist mountain forests. It has every appearance of being native there. The plants yield large rhizomes of very fine quality; and small lots are being sent out from that region. Could easily be grown on a commercial scale in Cuba.
